We first met Kerry and Steve from K9 Country Club Services when they contacted us to discuss a website for their new dog boarding and dog walking venture.
We invited them for a short informal meeting to go over the details and introduced them to our VIP (Very Important Puppy), Elliedog. She was just back from a long muddy walk in the woods and she was feeling very friendly. She couldn’t resist them and fortunately they couldn’t resist her! Muddy greetings followed and from that moment on I knew our rather limited dog care resources were taken care of.
Kerry and Steve explained that though this was a new venture for them it was something they felt very passionate about. They are extreme dog lovers and devoted parents to their labrador Barnaby. Working with dogs every day has been a lifelong dream and Kerry had decided it was time to have a change of lifestyle and make it happen!
The services on offer are dog boarding, dog walking, doggy daycare and puppy visits. The focus is on doing it properly – Council registered, fully insured, canine first aid trained, DBS/CRB checked and also on the personal touch. Providing a safe, happy and loving environment for your dog and in turn complete reassurance for dog owners.
The brief included help with identifying and securing a website domain name. Though there were some ideas about the business name this was still under discussion. Logo design and branding for use on the website and other materials such as business cards, leaflets, invoices etc and also for use on social media. A website to convey the personal, caring yet professional service on offer from Kerry and Steve. Providing clear information about their services and answers to what they felt may be common questions from dog owners. Over time the website, their credentials, their reputation and social media engagement would all evidence the invaluable service they provide to dogs and their owners but in the early stages the website needed to be on-message and have the right look and feel about it to make people feel able to trust K9 Country Club Services with their precious four legged friends.
A web proposal and prices were submitted for consideration and we were delighted when Kerry asked us to move forward with the project.
Initial steps of the project were to help Kerry decide on a suitable domain name which would help her determine the business name. We took her ideas and suggested some possible and available domain names. A decision was made and we secured the domain name K9countryclubservices.co.uk.
We then moved on to prepare some logo concepts for feedback. The image was ‘country’ and ‘personal’ and obviously ‘doggy’! Following feedback and refinement we settled on a logo and went on to produce a layout for the website featuring the logo, branding and suggested backgrounds to give Kerry and Steve an idea of how it could look.
We set some homework assignments, asking Kerry and Steve to work on their on-page content, photographs, information, on-page text. The website was populated, styled, graphics were generated and added until a version of the website was ready for review and feedback. Following a few tweaks and finishing touches the website was made live on SSL Web Hosting provided by Pedleyonline and the site was submitted to Google.
Basic Search Engine Optimisation for the services provided in their target areas Bromsgrove, Barnt Green, Lickey, Wildmoor, Alvechurch, Stoke Prior. With a good size website with plenty of unique, relevant on-page text and good use of meta title tags, description tags and alt image tags we are hopeful that the site will rank appropriately and see improvement over time.
The K9 Country Club Website has a mobile friendly / responsive design, and has been developed in WordPress. Elements of the site can be updated by Kerry and Steve if they wish, for example adding a blog post.
It’s personal! The website has a photo of the K9 Country Club setting which is based in Finstall, photos of Kerry and Steve and also their beloved Barney. There are also details of the credentials such as Council registration, Canine First Aid, Insurance, DBS/CRB etc. The About page provides background information about Kerry and Steve and reading it you cannot fail to get a sense of the passion and enjoyment they have for taking care of dogs. Our Services covers the different services they offer, dog boarding, dog walking, dog day care, puppy visits. Frequently Asked Questions will give answers to some of those niggles you may have when considering organising care for your precious pooch and if it’s not answered on the website then K9 Country Club conact details are on the Contact Us alongside a secure online contact form. Contact telephone number and social media icons on each and every page via the website header and footer.
Once the website was complete we helped Kerry with some additional marketing resources. She asked us to help with the design and setting work for some business cards and leaflets. These were created in-line with the branding and information on the website.
The K9 Country Club business is now in full flow and has been exceptionally successful. At our first meeting with Kerry and Steve we had no doubts at all about this. Take a look at their Facebook page and you will see for yourself what an amazing job they do. Facebook is used to engage and connect with their dog owners and clearly shows the relationships they have formed with dogs and owners alike.
And here is the most compelling endorsement of all for K9 Country Club. We make no secret of the fact that we worship our cocker spaniel (Princess) Elliedog. She is AMAZING in everyway and we are very protective of her. Well, Elliedog has just returned from a most enjoyable holiday spent with Aunty Kerry and Uncle Steve! Tried and tested we can whole-heartedly recommend K9 Country Club Services. We popped off on our holibobs over October half term with reassurance from Kerry that she would take excellent care of Ellie, cuddles, walks, playtime. We received photos and messages from Ellie (via Kerry) as requested whilst we were away. She settled really well, with no stress and had lots of fun walks and playtime with Barnaby.
